The competition platform is comprised of regional conferences and tiered levels of national competition to allow the best match-ups across the league. The ECNL also hosts National Events across the country to give member clubs the opportunity to compete against non-conference teams. Rusty Scarborough will be the Girls ECNL Director.

Program Overview

The Elite Clubs National League (ECNL) is a US Club Soccer-sanctioned league founded in 2009 to enhance the developmental experience of the female youth soccer players in the United States through:

  • Improving the competitive environment through the creation of a true national competitive league with multiple flights;
  • Improving the process for identifying elite female soccer players for U.S. Soccer’s Youth National Teams by way of a systematic scouting and identification program based on national competitions; and
  • Improving the daily training environment at top female youth soccer clubs through developing best practices and training and organizational guidelines for its member clubs.

The goal of the ECNL is to change the landscape for elite female soccer players in the United States with innovative, player-centered programming and to enhance the overall experience by creating a better, more enjoyable, and more successful player, coach, and club development model.

Pathway, Benefits & Dues

Futures: The Futures Program is the introduction of our female players to elite level training and identification opportunities at ages 11U and 12U. The programming will be offered at the York County, North Meck and Mooresville. The players will be selected through the regular ID/tryout process and the top 11U and 12U teams from the three locations will be part of the Futures Programming.

Throughout the playing season, these players will train three times a week at a high level with their staff coaches under supervision and instruction from the full ECNL staff. In addition to their league play, teams will be invited to ID events within Charlotte Independence Soccer Club to compete/train with Futures players from all three locations.

Programming will also introduce players to our club’s focus on sports performance through a nutritionist, athletic trainers and offseason training.

13-14U ECNL: At 13U and 14U, our female players from all locations integrate to form our top girls team for the ECNL Program. Our 13-14U will train four times a week with one being performance based through Novant EXOS training. Their season will begin at the end of July and run through the end of May. Teams will participate in league play and mandated events across the country (ex: Phoenix, Florida, Houston, South Carolina).

15-19U ECNL: The 15-19U players will train four times a week with one being performance based through Novant EXOS training. Their season will begin at the end of July and run through the beginning of February. These players will participate in offseason training for continued development and prepare for the Championship event in June. As with the 13-14U, teams will participate in league play and mandated events across the country (ex: Phoenix, Florida, Houston, South Carolina).
