If you are interested in our South Region's Recreational Youth Development Program, please contact Jay Lockhart at jayl@independencesoccer.club for more information.

Program Information

At the Charlotte Independence, our goal is to promote and develop the game of soccer for all levels of play. Our recreation program is an introductory level platform, focusing on the fundamentals of the game, fostering a love of the sport in a safe and enjoyable environment. Recreational programs compete in a local league with little to no travel needed to compete.

Pathway

Recreation soccer is the first step along The Independence Player Pathway, where our players can enjoy their experience, while also allowing themselves to compete and develop, identifying themselves as Charlotte independence players in their own communities. As the first step along the pathway, we hope this step bridges the gap to our Youth Academy, Competitive Programs, and eventually our National Programs.

The Charlotte Independence Youth Development Program and Early Development Program in the South are a path to bridge the gap between Recreation and Competitive. The Charlotte Independence will run Coaches Clinics for recreational coaches, player evaluations for recreational players, and provide development curriculum for the recreational programs participating in our YDP and EDP programs.  Look below to find the contact for your recreational program!
