CISC Partners With Sacred Heart Catholic School

We are excited to announce our partnership with Sacred Heart Catholic School (Salisbury, NC) to bring two youth programs to campus for the fall season. Beginning September 15th, CISC will bring their professionally licensed coaching staff to run the YDP and K.I.N.G.S. programs directly after school for SCHS students.

Community Engagement Director Fil Wilkinson welcomes the partnership as another example of Independence Soccer Club’s effort to make soccer accessible to all who want to play. “CISC is proud to continue to build relationships in communities through soccer. Our newest partnership brings an opportunity in the Rowan County area, where we have a strong base of players, already travelling to our locations in Lake Norman and Mecklenburg. With the partnership of Sacred Heart Catholic School and Robin Fisher helping provide the foundations to grow and build, Sacred Heart and the surrounding areas will be able to experience the Independence Way, and be a part of the CISC community.”

Robin Fisher, Athletic Director and Marketing and Communications Director for Sacred Heart Catholic School, shares her excitement for the partnership: “Sacred Heart School is so, so excited to begin this partnership with Independence Soccer Club.  We are elated to bring this quality of youth development and coaching back into Rowan County and Salisbury!  We look forward to other schools and youth communities joining us!“

K.I.N.G.S (Kicking Is Not Good Soccer) U5-U6: What do you mean kicking is not good soccer? Soccer is a game of ball control. In this entry-level program for our age groups U5-U6 (2016-2015 birth years), we teach the players the FUNdamentals of ball control including dribbling, advancing with the ball in control, and beginning to work on passing. The KINGS program consists of weekly 60-minute training sessions on Tuesdays over the course of 8 weeks.

Youth Development Program (YDP) U7-U13: Our Youth Development Program (YDP) (2014-2008 birth years) serves as step two in our Player Pathways and also serves as a bridge between our Recreational programs and our Competitive programs.  The YDP delivers an environment for the players to learn at a greater depth. With licensed professional coaches, we follow a curriculum designed to develop and improve the technical playing ability of each player. Players will develop a comfortability and greater confidence with the ball. The knowledge and technical ability gained will be applied to scrimmages and games. Lessons learned in YDP will be applied in competitive situations. Players in this program will have two 60-minute sessions weekly over the course of 8 weeks on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
