Girls Director of Goalkeeping
Matt Brown serves as the Girls Director of Goalkeeping for Charlotte Independence Soccer Club where he is responsible for all aspects of the goalkeeping program. Brown comes to the Independence Soccer Club with a wide range of coaching experience in youth, college, and professional soccer. Before joining Independence Soccer Club, Brown oversaw the goalkeeping program at the prestigious IMG Academy (FL), was the Director of Goalkeeping at North Carolina FC (formally CASL), spent time as the Goalkeeping Director at Hockessin Soccer Club (DE), and has developed many goalkeepers at the Youth National Team level and collegiate level. In terms of collegiate coaching, he has spent time as an Assistant Coach/Goalkeeper Coach at Haverford College (PA) and Greensboro College. As a player, Brown attended and played at Greensboro College, where he was a three-time conference champion, two-time All-Conference player, and Regional All-American. Brown currently holds his USSF B License, USSF GK License, NSCAA Advanced National Diploma, NSCAA National Diploma, and NSCAA Advanced National Goalkeeper Diploma.
