Nate Walzer

Boys Goalkeeping Director

Nate Walzer serves as the Boys Director of Goalkeeping for the Charlotte Independence Soccer Club where he is responsible for coaching, goalkeeper training, and the team selection process. Walzer comes to the Independence Soccer Club with a wide range of coaching experience in youth, college, and professional soccer. Currently, Nate is also the Charlotte Independence Pro Team's Assitant Coach/Goalkeeper Coach. In terms of collegiate coaching, he has spent time as an Assistant Coach/Goalkeeper Coach at NC State University, Limestone College, Concordia University, and the University of Rio Grande. He has also made stops at the Portland Timbers Academy, United PDX Soccer Club, and was named as the Oregon Youth Soccer Coach of the Year in 2017. As a player, Walzer attended and played at the University of Rio Grande, where he was a 3-time conference champion as well as a 2008 National Runner Up. In terms of licenses, he currently holds his USSF C License, USC Advanced National Diploma, USC Advanced National Goalkeeper Diploma, and is also an NCSA Certified Personal Trainer.
